Cleveland Clinic and Vinmec Health System announced that Vinmec Central Park International Hospital has become a member of Cleveland Clinic Connected.
Vinmec Central Park, owned by Vingroup, is located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The 178-bed hospital has a team of experienced Vietnamese and international physicians, who provide high-acuity care in a wide range of specialties, including cardiology, neurology, women’s health, cancer and internal medicine, positioning Vinmec Central Park at the forefront of performing some first-of-it-kind medical techniques in Vietnam. Vinmec Central Park is accredited by Joint Commission International, a recognized global leader in healthcare certification as well as recognized for excellent hospital management.
“Our work with Vinmec Central Park will build on and expand our existing collaboration with Vinmec Healthcare System,” said Tommaso Falcone, M.D., Cleveland Clinic Executive Vice President and President of International and Emerging Markets. “Together, we are implementing a positive change in patient experience and care. We are thrilled to welcome Vinmec Central Park as the newest Cleveland Clinic Connected member.”
In January 2023, Vinmec Times City, also owned by Vingroup, became the first Cleveland Clinic Connected member hospital in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. "Becoming a member of the global network initiated by Cleveland Clinic not only affirms the quality of treatment and healthcare provided by Vinmec Heathcare System, but also marks our journey toward international recognition, aiming to become a leading regional hospital in Asia,” said Ms. Le Thuy Anh, CEO of Vinmec Healthcare System, Vingroup Corporation. “We believe that with the support from an excellent healthcare system like Cleveland Clinic, Vinmec Central Park will continue to thrive, constantly standardizing and enhancing its capabilities to become the top choice for world-class healthcare services in the region."
The goal of the Cleveland Clinic Connected program is to build a global network of independent, like-minded, quality-focused organizations that have a positive impact on patient care. The collaboration enables hospitals and healthcare organizations around the world to connect with Cleveland Clinic’s clinical and operational experts to enhance patient care, quality and safety, and quality improvement in the healthcare industry worldwide, especially in the aftermath of the pandemic.
To join Cleveland Clinic Connected, member hospitals must be aligned with the program’s core tenants -- safety and quality, continuous improvement and patient experience. The Cleveland Clinic team witnessed first-hand those priorities at Vinmec Central Park as they conducted interviews with each member of the hospital's leadership team and had independent discussions with doctors, nurses and patients undergoing treatment at Vinmec Central Park.
As a member of Cleveland Clinic Connected, experts with Vinmec's cardiology center and sarcoma center were able to connect with experts from Cleveland Clinic to discuss the application of international standards to achieve high treatment effectiveness in Vietnam. Experts from Vinmec and Cleveland Clinic regularly share knowledge, provide updates on new techniques, and discuss clinical cases. For complex cases, Vinmec physicians may consult Cleveland Clinic physicians for a consultative guidance diagnosis, helping to determine the best treatment protocol.
